My husband and son are huge video game players. We have a PS3 and it’s not uncommon for me to find them “lost” in a game every now and then. We are a very active, sports-driven family, so it’s not surprising that they love playing sports games like Madden and NCAA Football. We recently bought NCAA Football 12 and they are totally hooked on it!
The game itself is pretty awesome! The vibrant colors and realistic graphics make it exciting to play and watch.
It’s also fun to be able to pick your favorite NCAA football team and play an entire season with them. It is easily addictive though!
My son is the real gamer in the house. He is so obsessed that if he is in the middle of playing a game and has to stop, he will just pause the game and leave everything running. Hours later I will hear the PS3 still running and acting like it’s going to overheat. I know better than to turn it off though. The last time I did I thought the world was going to end! He was playing NCAA Football and apparently his undefeated team (Wisconsin) was winning the game and I made him lose…oops!
My twin girls are only two, so they are too young to play video games just yet. When daddy was playing tonight they munched on popcorn and cheered him on.
I’m usually taking care of the girls, so I don’t get to play with the boys. Instead I make yummy game time food like loaded nachos or tacos, or I order us pizza and hot wings to enjoy. I am sure that once the girls are older they will want to join in and play, which means I will hopefully get to play too!
The boys have been having so much fun playing NCAA Football 12 that they can’t wait for NCAA Football 13 to be released at Walmart on July 10. There are some exciting new features that they can’t wait to try out!
Here are the exclusive new features of NCAA13:
Heisman Challenge — Win it for your school as you play as one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners under center, in the backfield, or split wide, see if you can utilize his legendary skills for your favorite college team in a quest to match his award-winning historical performances and win the Heisman Trophy once again. Choose from the following former Heisman greats:
· Robert Griffin III
· Doug Flutie
· Herschel Walker
· Marcus Allen
· Charlie Ward
· Barry Sanders
· Desmond Howard
· Eddie George
· Carson Palmer
· Andre Ware
An All-New Passing Game — A revolutionary passing system brings added authenticity to the Quarterback position from ball trajectory to play action pass to the option. Enhanced receiver control puts you in position to make a play on the ball and new read and react defensive coverage delivers greater realism on the gridiron.
Reaction Time — Great players see and feel the game differently. With Reaction Time, the game slows down during key moments, increasing your on-field awareness and opening up more opportunities as you sense things before they happen.
Dynamic Dynasty — Recruiting goes deeper than ever with the addition of dynamic recruiting pitches. For the first time ever, your recruiting grades can change each week based on your performance in Dynasty mode. In addition, Gameday Saturdays come to life with live studio updates and enhanced commentary by Rece Davis.
We are also excited for EA Sports new “You’re Covered” Program that will be coming out with the game on July 10. This program will allow gamers to upload a photo online and print a custom cover featuring his or her face on the body of an NCAA Football 13 player.
How cool is that?! Wouldn’t that make an awesome gift for the gamer in your life? I know that my son is anxious to try it out next week!
If you are just as excited for the release of NCAA Football 13, make sure you keep an eye out for an upcoming post on my blog. I will be sharing my thoughts on the new game, as well as offering up an awesome giveaway!
