Scrabble Catch Phrase Electronic Game {Review & Giveaway}

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to play board games. I’ve always had a competitive nature, so games are right up my alley. My husband and son are the same way, so family game nights can get a little tense in our house. No matter what the game is, we always have fun and enjoy the time together.

While we have a nice collection of games, we are always looking for new games to play. We recently had the opportunity to review Scrabble Catch Phrase, a new electronic twist to the original Catch Phrase game. We were excited to open the game up and try it out!

To play Scrabble Catch Phrase, all you need is the game unit and at least 4 players (ages 12+). The game unit is about the size of a small plate or bowl — just big enough to fit in your hands. You can choose from 5 categories — Fun & Games, Entertainment, Everyday Life, The World and Variety.

The goal of Scrabble Catch Phrase is to try and get your teammates to guess the word or phrase on the screen. You can use gestures and give clues, but you can’t rhyme or use first letters or parts of the word. If you do, the other team gets a point. The game challenges you to guess the words/phrases and pass the unit to the other team before the timer runs out. When the buzzer goes off, whichever team has the unit loses a point to the other side, so you have to move fast! The team that gets to 7 points first, wins!

We have played Scrabble Catch Phrase a couple of times now and it’s been a blast! It’s a great game to play if you have a group of friends over. It can get really loud and obnoxious, but everyone loves it. It reminds me a lot of Taboo, one of my all-time favorite games. My son is only 11, so it is a little challenging for him, but he still really likes it. I am looking forward to playing the game on Thanksgiving with all of our family. I am sure with more people it will be even more exciting!
