The Super Bowl may be over but people are still talking about the commercials. Love them or hate them, they have a way of keeping you glued to your seat during the big game. And if you’re like me, you don’t really care about the game anyway — you’re just watching for the commercials!
From adorable puppies to inspirational dads, this year’s ads were some of the best I’ve seen in years. Many of them were touchy-feely, but there were some funny ones like Discover’s “Surprise.” In case you missed it, you can watch it here. It is too funny to not share!
Besides giving you a good laugh, the commercial shows you a main benefit that Discover offers their cardmembers, which is that they can get their Free FICO® Credit Score on their monthly statements and online. Why Your Credit Score Matters
1. Lenders use it to determine whether or not they will approve you for a loan

4. Checking your credit score keeps you informed about any suspicious activity on your accounts, such as identity theft
If you haven’t paid much attention to your credit score in the past, now is the time to change that! Your credit score is a reflection of you and your ability to manage your finances. It can be the difference between getting a mortgage on a new home or continuing to rent. It can affect your finances long-term, either positively or negatively. Be proactive about paying your bills on time and paying off any debt you might have and you’ll be on your way to improving your credit.

I checked my credit score about a year ago. I need to take a look at it again. This Super Bowl commercial was so funny. There were a lot of commercials that I liked. Thanks for the reminder about making sure to check my credit score.
