Chocolate Pretzel Bark

We’ve been spending a lot of time indoors lately, thanks to the cold weather. The great thing is the kids and I have been having a lot of fun getting our baking and crafting on!

Today we made Chocolate Pretzel Bark with purple chocolate and Easter M&M’s to give it a festive flair. They turned out great and the nice thing is it would be super easy to change up the colors and candy to fit any holiday or occasion.

The other great thing is the process is easy enough that the kids can jump in and help. Mine especially enjoyed sprinkling the tops of the bark with the M&M’s and colored sprinkles. The batch we made will definitely be gone by tomorrow (treats don’t last long in this house!), but I plan on making more for our family celebration on Easter. They will also make yummy teachers’ gifts!

I encourage you to try out this recipe and get creative using different colored chocolate and candy to decorate the bark. Make sure you come back and share your ideas!

Chocolate Pretzel Bark

Ingredients

  • 1 C. Easter M&M's
  • 1 ½ C. broken pretzel pieces (I used small round pretzels, but small stick would be good too)
  • 1 lb. Wilton Purple Chocolate
  • Spring nonpareil sprinkles (the ones pictured were in the baking aisle at Walmart)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9x13 baking sheet with wax paper or foil.
  2. Spread ¾ C. of the Easter M&M's and the broken pretzel pieces onto the lined cookie sheet.
  3. Melt the purple chocolate in a microwave safe dish stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Let cool 1-2 minutes.
  4. Poor the melted chocolate evenly over the M&M and pretzel mixture. Spread out with a spatula if needed.
  5. Before the mixture 'sets' sprinkle the remaining Easter M&M's and the spring sprinkles on top.
  6. Place in the fridge to set.
  7. Remove and break into smaller pieces. Enjoy!
