After nearly a month of anticipation, it’s time to announce the winners of the 12th annual Cheap Chic Weddings Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest! Last week the 10 finalists showcased their work at the contest’s finale event held at Haven Rooftop at The Sanctuary Hotel. More than 1,500 dresses were entered this year and designers were required to construct their wedding dresses only out of Charmin toilet paper, tape, glue and/or needle and thread.
Members of Cheap Chic Weddings, Charmin, Edward Meyer of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, The Sanctuary’s Hank Freid and Michael Russo, event planner to the stars and member of OK! TV entertaining team served as judges and selected this year’s winning designs.
This marks the sixth year Charmin has partnered with Cheap Chic Weddings by providing coupons to help cover the cost of purchasing Charmin toilet paper used in creating each dress. Designers used between nine and 70 rolls of Charmin Basic, Charmin Ultra Soft and Charmin Ultra Strong. The softness combined with the strength of Charmin makes it the perfect material for designers to use to create their dresses and models to wear on the runway.
The winning dress by Van Tran of Brooklyn, New York – $10,000 Grand Prize
Isn’t the winning dress absolutely stunning? Van Tran used hot glue, glitter glue, duct tape, thread
and 10 mega rolls of Charmin Ultra Strong to complete the mermaid style dress. It’s hard to believe that it was made entirely of toilet paper. It’s gorgeous and could definitely pass as a “real” wedding dress!
Judith Henry from Woodland Hills, UT took second place and received a check for $5,000 and Donna Vincler from Brentwood, TN took third place and received a check for $2,500. Roy Cruz from Chesapeake, VA won “Fan Favorite” and received a year supply of Charmin Ultra Soft and Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper. Aren’t they all gorgeous? The designers did an amazing job!

All of these dresses are beautiful. I am in awe that they are made out of Charmin. These are some exceptionally talented women. As for having a favorite, I don't. I think all of them are equally beautiful. I would not have wanted to be a judge in this contest.
