Healthy Fruit Dip Made with Daisy Cottage Cheese

I am always looking for new healthy snack ideas. We eat a lot of fruit and vegetables but I’ve found that we don’t eat enough protein. I’ve been trying to increase our protein intake by combining a serving of fruit or vegetables with a serving of healthy protein, such as greek yogurt or cottage cheese.

Cottage Cheese with Cherry Tomatoes

One of our favorite ways to eat cottage cheese is in a bowl and topped with sliced cherry tomatoes from our garden. With a little salt and pepper sprinkled on top, it’s delicious and full of flavor. It’s such a simple snack to prepare!

I’ve also been finding ways to implement cottage cheese into some of our favorites recipes. My kids love dipping their fruit into any kind of dip — it’s just more fun that way — but most dips tend to be full of sugar. This healthy fruit dip is delicious and packed full of protein. It has just four ingredients — lowfat 2% cottage cheese, peanut butter, milk and cinnamon — and it’s super easy to make.

Healthy Fruit Dip Using Daisy Cottage Cheese

My kids love dipping their apple slices in this dip but you could really use any type of fruit. It would be yummy with with pears, strawberries or bananas.

Daisy Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is an excellent source of protein, a good source of calcium and it’s gluten free. I like to buy Daisy Cottage Cheese because it is 100% pure, with no additives, preservatives or added growth hormones. It only contains 4 ingredients (cultured skim milk, cream, salt, vitamin A palmitate). I prefer the low fat 2% because it has just 90 calories and 13 grams of protein (26% of your daily value!) per 1/2 cup serving.
