Have you ever thought about how many devices in your home take batteries? It’s something you probably don’t think about very often. That is until a favorite toy stops working and you realize that you are out of batteries and have to run to the store. We have had that happen one too many times, so now we make sure to buy batteries in bulk!
From smoke detectors, to TV remotes, to gadgets in our kitchen, to electronic toys and baby gear, sometimes we forget how many items throughout our homes depend on batteries. In my home we sure go through a lot. I would say that the kids toys use up the most, but our wireless keyboard and mouse batteries seem to need to be replaced the most frequently.
Even when we’re on the go we use a lot of batteries. Our vehicle has a DVD system and the remotes and headphones are all powered by batteries. When we go on long trips we have to replace all the batteries at least once, but it’s worth it to keep the kids entertained!

Duracell Quantum Heroes
Duracell is donating one million Duracell Quantum batteries to first responders across North America because they need and deserve them the most! First responders use (AA/AAA) batteries in critical devices that keep us safe and protect us — from life-saving breathing apparatus, and location tracking devices to flashlights. They also distribute batteries for community safety programs.
To celebrate our nation’s first responders, we’re telling stories of sacrifice and heroism with a documentary-style video series called Quantum Heroes Presented by Duracell. I encourage you to watch them when you have a chance!
