We moved into our new home about 9 months ago, and have been working on decorating it ever since. We are pretty much finished, minus a few wall hangings and decor items. We have been adding new things here and there as our budget has allowed. One item that I’ve been wanting since we moved in is a nice runner rug to cover up an area of carpet in a high traffic area between our living room and kitchen.
Even though our carpet is only a couple of years old, this area tends to get matted down very quickly and it drives me crazy. I am always vacuuming it to make it look better. I’ve always thought that it would be great to have a nice rug to not only protect the carpet, but also give the area a pop of color.
I’ve heard great things about Mohawk, and have seen their rugs in some of my local stores, so I decided that it would be nice to find one of their runners to match our decor. Mohawk agreed to let me review a rug of my choice, so I looked at all of the available options online at Mohawk Home, the rug division of Mohawk Industries. My search led me to tons of different prints and styles! I spent a couple of hours looking and trying to decide which one would look best. It was a hard decision, but I finally decided on the Mohawk Lazio Woven Runner Rug. Measuring 25″ x 94″ (appx. 8 ft by 2 ft), it is the perfect size for our walkway.
We have several accent walls that are painted dark brown, and we have lots of olive green tones in our decor. The rug matches everything perfectly! It has made a huge difference in our living space. I really didn’t think that it would make that big of a difference, but the colors and design really draw our living room and kitchen together and make it look really nice! It makes our home feel very warm and inviting. I just love it! My husband even said that the rug is his favorite thing that I have reviewed so far! 🙂 Here’s a before picture:
And here’s what it looks like now:
Doesn’t it look so much better?!
The Lazio rug is woven out of 100% olefin, making it incredibly soft, yet durable. The back is not skid-resistant. It stays just fine on my carpet, but if I was placing it on a hardwood or tile floor I would make sure to buy a non-skid pad to place underneath it. The rug is stain and fade resistant, and can be spot cleaned only. I like that it’s easy to vacuum and doesn’t look matted down after it’s been walked on. I can tell that it is a high-quality rug that will last us a long time!
