This post is brought to you by Visine and The Motherhood. Opinions and experiences shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
Itchy, watery eyes. Runny nose. Sneezing.
Yep, it’s allergy season and all five of us are miserable. It’s spring here in Colorado and with that brings an abundance of pollen from all the trees blooming. While we are excited for the warmer weather and pretty blooms, we could really do without the annoying allergens in the air. Thankfully, there are ways to cope.
One way we find relief is by using Visine-A Multi-Action Eye Allergy Relief. The easy-to-use eye drops are clinically proven to temporarily relieve itchy, red eyes due to pollen, ragweed, grass, animal hair and dander. The effective formula combines an antihistamine with a redness reliever to temporarily relieve eye itchiness and redness, helping eyes get back to normal.
If you are one of the estimated 50 million Americans who suffer from allergies (1 in 5 Americans), you may want to try Visine-A drops. They are easy to use and most importantly, they are effective. Out of all my allergy symptoms, having irritated eyes is the most frustrating of all. I can’t seem to get anything done and that makes me miserable. The relief I have found from Visine-A drops is amazing and truly helps me get through the day.
Unsure of whether or not you are suffering from eye allergies?
Symptoms may include:
- Itching
- Redness
- Tearing
- Swelling and puffiness of the eyelids
- “Foreign body sensation”
- Burning sensation
- Watery eyes
Find relief from seasonal allergies by following these tips:
INDOORS
- Wash linens and clothes regularly
- Keep windows shut to keep out pollen and other outdoor allergens
- Vacuum and dust often to reduce indoor allergens, such as dust and pet dander
- Run the air conditioner or air filter to sift out allergens. Make sure to keep those air filters clean and replace them regularly
- Put allergy proof covers on pillows, mattresses and comforters to ward off dust mites
OUTDOORS
- Check the pollen count before going outside each day – pollen counts tend to be highest 5 – 10AM
- Shower after being outdoors to remove allergens that may have stuck to you. Use a sterile saline eye wash to flush allergens out ofyour eyes
- Do not hang laundry to dry outdoors because allergens can stick to the clothes
- Glasses and sunglasses act as a barrier or shield to minimize allergens from sticking to your eyes
- If you prefer to wear contact lenses, choose a daily disposable lens, which can minimize accumulation of allergens as well. Contact lens wearers can use VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief, but need to remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting contact lenses after using the drops

I had no idea Visine had an allergy version, I will have to check that out for the Mr.! I love having the windows open, but it's amazing just how much having them closed helps.

I'm like the poster child for this stuff. I can't wear makeup at all in the spring or fall because it smears all over my face as I try to claw my eyes out from allergy irritation.
