Smoothies are a delicious and fun way of making sure you have enough fruit and vegetables in your diet. These items are vital, as they contain essential vitamins and minerals.
They are also a great way of encouraging kids to eat healthier. What better way to start the day than by having a refreshing smoothie for breakfast?
There are hundreds of different combinations of fruit and vegetables that you can blend, so do not be afraid to experiment and find smoothies that you love. Here are three of our favorites made with almond milk — they are ideal for dairy-free, or dairy reduced diets.

- Around 1 handful of spinach
- 3 tablespoons of oats

Mango Strawberry with a Touch of Honey
Mangos are an excellent provider of folic acid, which can be very helpful during pregnancy. They have also been shown to aid in the prevention of certain cancers.

- 1/2 cup of ripe mango, chopped into pieces
- 4 strawberries
- 1/2 cup of almond milk
- 1/2 cup of ice
- 1/4 cup of natural yogurt

Kale Smoothie with a Twist
Kale is one of those vegetables that everyone is talking about. It’s full of iron and antioxidants and it’s an excellent anti-inflammatory food. Pineapple and banana are to the mix for extra goodness.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of almond milk
- 2 cups of chopped kale
- 1 1/2 cups of chopped pineapple
- 1 Banana
