Calling all Outlander fans! Have you heard the great news? The best-selling book series will be making its television debut on Starz this Saturday, August 9th at 9 PM EST/PST! I am super excited about the show and can’t wait to watch the first season. I’ve already got it programmed on my DVR to record each week, so even if I get busy with the kids I won’t miss a show!
The Outlander series is adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books and spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one epic tale. I just started reading the books and I am already hooked. I love Claire and Jamie and can’t wait to see them come to life on the show. I am also looking forward to seeing how the books and the show compare.
Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
Sounds riveting, doesn’t it? Oh, let me tell you, it is! It’s a show you won’t want to miss!
I had the amazing opportunity to watch the first episode of the show and without giving away any details, it was filled with romance, adventure and suspense. I can’t wait to watch the second episode to see what happens next!
