I partnered with JOHNSON’S Baby and The Motherhood to bring you this post.
When I became a mom, I made a promise to always do my best to protect my kids. Whether it’s food, toys, baby gear or personal care products I want to make sure that the products they are around are safe. For years we have used (and loved!) JOHNSON’S baby products, but when I heard that their products contained potentially harmful ingredients, I wasn’t sure if I should continue to use them. I am happy to share that JOHNSON’S Baby heard moms’ concerns about the ingredients in personal care products and has reformulated their baby products to meet the 2013 Safety and Care Commitment.
JOHNSON’S Baby wants you to know that they always listen to moms and although their products have always been safe, they took a stand and changed their formulas to give moms peace of mind. These changes include removing formaldehyde-releasing preservatives and reducing traces of 1,4 dioxane from all of their products. They have also removed parabens from most of their new and improved products, which is ahead of their 2015 commitment.
JOHNSON’S® Baby Newly Reformulated Products:
- JOHNSON’S® Baby HEAD-TO-TOE® Wash
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thick and Curly Hair
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thin and Straight Hair
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo with Calming Lavender
- JOHNSON’S® Baby Soothing Vapor Baby Bath
As the new products hit shelves, JOHNSON’S Baby will be launching a heartfelt campaign called “Your Promise is Our Promise” as a way to express their ongoing commitment to moms. Just as moms make promises to their children, JOHNSON’S® Baby also makes promises so moms don’t have to worry about the products they use on their little ones.
To share this commitment, they’ve created an inspiring story through the “Our Promise” video, which can be viewed on YouTube, as an open letter to moms showing scientists and families coming together to build an origami stork mobile, symbolizing the delivery of our promise to always listen to moms. The video was inspired by a Japanese legend that folding 1,000 origami cranes will result in a wish granted and a promise fulfilled, which is thought to be a big labor of love.
After watching the beautiful video, I can honestly say that I believe JOHNSON’S Baby has made a true commitment to both moms and babies. Just like moms make promises to their children, I trust that the brand will stand by their promise to create products that are safe. Kudos to JOHNSON’S Baby for listening to consumers and changing their products for the better!
What did you like about the video?

Hearing that the products you use on your children has formaldehyde-releasing preservatives is definitely a scary thing. So glad J&J heard the concerns of parents and changed these things!

Johnson and Johnson have been a maker of quality products for so long. It is good to see that they are thinking of our children when developing new items or reformulating old ones.

I used Johnsons for my kids. I trusted them back then as they were. My kids aren't small any more but I think it's great they're listening to consumer feedback.
