Kellogg’s & Scholastic Encourage Reading With Free Books {Giveaway}

Reading has always been a love of mine. Now that I am a busy mom and wife, I don’t have as much time to read, but I still try to make sure that I read with my kids on a daily basis. As a former elementary school teacher, I know how important it is to develop good reading habits at home. The practice definitely pays off in the classroom!

If you haven’t already heard, Kellogg’s and Scholastic Books have partnered up with Walmart to create the Kellogg’s Family Rewards Program. The program is designed to encourage kids to read at home by giving them the opportunity to earn free books. With the purchase of specially marked Kellogg’s products at Walmart stores, parents can redeem a coupon for a free Scholastic book of their child’s choice.

How to Participate

When you purchase two specially marked Kellogg’s products or one Kellogg’s Tri-Pack at Walmart stores, you can enter the codes printed inside merchandise packaging at KelloggsFamilyRewards.com/Scholastic. You will receive a confirmation email containing a Scholastic Book Coupon for a book of the child’s choice up to $5 in value.

The coupon can be redeemed on the Scholastic online store in the “Great Books for $5” section. Popular books include: There is a Fly Guy in My Soup by Ted Arnold, There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Book by Lucille Colandro and Spiders by Nic Bishop. Participating brands include Raisin Bran®, Nutri-Grain®, Eggo®, Pop-Tarts®, Cheez-It®, Rice Krispies Treats®, Froot Loops®, Keebler® and Frosted Mini-Wheats®.

A couple of weeks ago, Kellogg’s sent us an awesome package of goodies to help us get started with the Family Rewards Program. We received some great books from Scholastic, as well as some treats from the Kellogg’s brand. My kids were super excited to sit down with the books and enjoy a yummy snack while we read!
