We haven’t wanted to venture out into the cold too much with all of the snow we have been getting. I decided it would be fun to host an Oscar pre-party since the Oscars are just a few days away. I invited our friends and family over for a “Red Carpet Movie Night” complete with food, movies, and even a red carpet!
Having a movie night with family and friends was the perfect way to spend our time stuck inside. Besides watching some of the Oscar nominated movies (past and present), the best part of the evening was eating some yummy snacks.
Wholly Guacamole sent us three different kinds of guacamole (Classic, Homestyle, and Spicy)…
…and three kinds of salsa (Classic Medium, Mango Red Pepper, and Guacamole & Spicy Pico) to enjoy at our party. My family is obsessed with guac and salsa, so this was definitely a treat!
We wanted to serve dinner at our party, so I decided to make an easy favorite — Guacamole Pepper Jack Burgers. They are super easy to make! Just grill beef or turkey patties, add pepper jack cheese, guacamole, and whatever other toppings you like. We put the Wholly Homestyle Guacamole on ours, along with onions and tomatoes.
We paired them with chips, guac and salsa. Everything was so yummy! We loved all of the guacs and salsas, but if we had to pick favorites I think we would all agree that we like the Homestyle Guacamole and the Classic Medium Salsa the best.
We also had some yummy adult drinks thanks to Daily’s Cocktails. The frozen pouches can be stored in your freezer until you are ready to use them. Then you simply squeeze them into a glass and enjoy! They already have alcohol in them so they are super convenient and easy! There are tons of great flavors, but my favorites (so far) are Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri. I look forward to trying the new light versions when my store gets them in stock.
We had a great night! We had a lot of fun watching movies, talking about the Oscars, and enjoying our Wholly products and Daily’s Cocktails. We will be rooting on our favorites this Sunday (2/24) when the Oscars air live at 7e/4p on ABC.
Who are you rooting for? I’m thinking Lincoln or Argo will get best picture. It’s a toss up between the two, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
