When it comes to shopping for appliances, the first store that comes to mind is Sears. For years it has been my go-to place to shop for new home appliances. It’s no secret that Sears is a leader in the appliance space — it’s one of the company’s best product categories. In an effort to capitalize on this and give customers a superior shopping experience, the company recently opened its first-ever standalone appliance store — Sears Appliances Store — in Fort Collins, Colorado. This new store marks the first Sears store strictly dedicated to appliances.
My husband and I had a chance to visit the store the other day, and from the moment we walked in the door, we were in awe. From the rows of beautiful appliances to the kitchen vignettes and digital displays, this store truly is state-of-the-art. It’s bright, open and innovative.
There is so much to love about this store, but I was most impressed with the wide selection of appliances on display for me to touch and see in real life. Nowadays, it’s practically impossible to see the exact appliance you want to buy in-store. You typically have to order it online without ever seeing it in person. The fact that this new Sears store has so many appliances on display for me to check out before I buy is a huge win in my book.
In addition to appliances, the new store includes digital innovations, such as the Kitchen Creator, a 122-inch interactive digital display that allows you to visualize how new appliances would appear in a full-scale kitchen. Using a tablet, you can select common kitchen layouts and further customize the experience by choosing colors and finishes. It is so cool! If you are a visual person, this is an awesome feature to take advantage of when you are in-store.
Sears Appliances Store also offers additional services that are helpful when buying appliances, including:
- Meet with An Expert: The free service helps members shop for home appliances by letting them schedule appointments with in-store experts on their own time.
- Free In-Store Shipping: Looking for a product that’s not carried in the Sears Appliances store? Simply open the Sears mobile app, find the item you want – apparel, footwear, tools, lawn and garden equipment and more – and get free shipping on orders placed while in store (when location services are enabled).
- Buy Online and Ship to the Store, In-Vehicle Pickup: Members can purchase all products available on Sears.com, ship to the store for free then pick up their items at the store when they arrive, where they will be ready in five minutes, guaranteed. Members can even choose to have their item brought out to them by using Sears’ innovative In-Vehicle Pickup service.
- Anyone, Anywhere Pickup: Members can order any item on Sears.com and send a friend or family member to pick up the purchase – particularly useful for parents purchasing items for their kids who may be away at college.
