I know it’s only the middle of September, but I’ve already started to think about my Holiday shopping. I usually wait until the last minute to buy my Christmas gifts and that is way too stressful for me. This year I am making it a point to plan ahead so that I not only have more time to find unique gifts, but also to allow me to budget our Christmas money over the course of the next few months.
To help me budget for holiday gifts, I plan on taking advantage of Kmart’s free layaway. In comparison to Walmart, Best Buy, and Toys R Us, Kmart’s layaway program comes out on top.
Just see for yourself —
I love that Kmart doesn’t charge a service fee for layaway items, and I also love that I can shop online and add items to my layaway account. With thousands of items to choose from, and no minimum item or transaction amount, it makes it easy to get all of my shopping done in one place!
I’ve already eyed a few items that I would love to place on layaway for my family, including a new Canon Rebel T3i and a Leap Frog LeapPad2.
I figure if I start now, I can have everything paid off by Christmas. For once maybe I won’t be so stressed about buying everything last minute!
To start the season of giving off right, Kmart is launching the “Big Layaway Giveaway.” There will be one layaway giveaway per store per week every week from 9/9/12 through 11/17/12. No purchase necessary. Check out Kmart’s Big Layaway Giveaway for more details on how you can win!
I will be entering, will you? Hopefully, some of you will come back to tell me that you’ve won! Good luck!

I've always loved the concept of layaway and am happy the stores are starting to bring it back. Let's face it, some people just don't have a lot of money and being able to put items on layaway and put money toward the items is very convenient. I have never been able to save money and if I don't have enough to buy the item outright, it usually just doesn't get bought.

I have never done layaway before. They you for showing what Kmart offers compared to the other places. Maybe in the future I will use this option!
