I can’t believe how quickly the summer has flown by! I swear it was just the 4th of July a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully, we will still have some warm weather here in Colorado through October, but I always have such a hard time adjusting from one season to the next.
I think the hardest part for me is when my son has to go back to school. He started last week and it’s been a little crazy ever since. I always dread having to adjust our schedule to accomodate an earlier bed time and it’s always hard losing his help with the younger kids during the day. It’s also chaotic trying to get all of our school shopping done in time.
This year we took advantage of some really good deals, so we hardly paid anything for school supplies. I found some Office Depot coupons and matched them with store sales and scored almost free school supplies. I also got some great deals on clothes at Old Navy and shoes at Famous Footwear, so the kids will be set for awhile now at least. I usually stock up on more items when it gets closer to the Holidays and all of the Black Friday deals are out.
While going back to school is always a hard adjustment me, it also is a reminder that my son is growing up and will be learning new things. This is his last year of elementary school, so I really want to enjoy it. I know it’s going to fly by though. Before we know it, the cold weather will be here and the craziness of the Holidays will set in. I am not ready for that or for my son to be in middle school, so here’s hoping for a really slow next few months!
