As a busy mom of three kids, I really can’t afford to get sick. There’s food that needs to be cooked, a home that needs taken care of, and little ones that need my attention. I can’t just lay on the couch all day and rest when I’m feeling under the weather. I have to suck it up and put my family’s need before my own.
To prevent myself from getting sick I do my best to eat healthy, get good sleep, and load up on vitamins throughout the cold and flu season. But we all know that sometimes you just can’t prevent yourself from catching a nasty cold, so what’s a mom to do then?
When I feel a cold coming on, I load up on Vitamin C and try to get good rest. Sometimes that’s not enough, so I rely on Vicks DayQuil to help me get through the day and Vick’s NyQuil to help me get a good night’s sleep. I also make sure I always have lots of cough drops, tea, and Kleenex on hand.
The hardest part about being sick is making it through the day. I know my kids will wake up with just as much energy as they always do, so I won’t be able to just take the day off and rest. Vicks DayQuil at least helps me feel well enough to make it through the day.
The time-tested formula of Vicks DayQuil Cold & Flu Relief can provide non-drowsy symptom relief for those suffering from a cough, cold or flu. The active ingredients in the formula work to suppress the impulse to cough, help clear nasal congestion for easier breathing, help relieve minor aches and pains, and reduce a fever.
Getting a good night’s rest is so important when you’re sick, but it’s not always easy to sleep when you’re not feeling well. My husband and I both rely on Vicks NyQuil to help relieve our cold symptoms so that we can sleep through the night.
The relief provided by Vicks NyQuil Cold & Flu Relief is a result of three active ingredients that work to fight symptoms of a cough, cold or flu. Specifically, the ingredients in NyQuil Cold & Flu Relief help relieve symptoms by suppressing the urge to cough, reducing a fever, alleviating minor aches and pains, and relieving sneezing and runny nose.
Both DayQuil and NyQuil come in Liquid or LiquiCaps. Choose from DayQuil Citrus Blend or NyQuil Soothing Original, Soothing Cherry or Vanilla Cherry Swirl. Vicks DayQuil and NyQuil products are available nationwide, anywhere Vicks products are sold.

As moms, we tend to put our family’s needs and overall health before our own. Knowing we can’t take a sick day from being a mom, what are some things you do to try and prevent yourself from getting sick?
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

When we start to feel symptoms coming on or something is going around badly and we are trying to prevent getting it.. we use the neti pot w/ 1 cup DISTILLED ONLY water 1 pinch seasalt 1 pinch baking soda warmed in microwave to just BARELY warm (recipe from allergist). use that in our sinuses, we gargle (dont swallow) with straight hydrogen peroxide (learned that when in hospital once) .. whitens teeth too. lol We take extra high doses of vit c and zinc. Of course we wash our hands extra and I make that more tempting and enjoyable by always having the current yummy scent for whaever season or holiday it is of foaming handsoap from bath and bodyworks
We seriously DO use dayquil and nyquil when sick too. There aren't a lot of products my parents used when I was a kid that I still use today bc I am always trying to the newest breakthroughs etc BUT in this case I keep going back to my trusty nyquil bc IT REALLY WORKS!

I agree with you. As a mother of grown kid's, I seem to alway's put my need's on the back burner. Now I am older, I don't do that. You see I have my grandkid's now and it's important that I take care of myself so I can enjoy them. I do my Dr. visit's like I should. I try to eat right. And keep stress out of my life.
