Earlier this month, my family was invited to spend a day at Water World, an outdoor family water park located about 15 miles north of downtown Denver, Colorado. My kids had been begging to go, so the invite came with perfect timing.
Growing up, my family would go to Water World every summer. It was always so much fun, and now that I have kids of my own, I love taking them there every year. It’s definitely one of our favorite parts about summer!
Like always, we had an amazing time at Water World. We picked the best day to go — it was sunny, but not too hot, and the lines were short. We were able to go on just about every ride, and we even got to go on our favorite rides, Mile High Flyer and The Storm, twice! We had so much fun that it was hard to leave. Who knows, we may have to go back before summer ends!
Top Reasons to Visit Water World
Water World is rated one of the Top 10 Water Parks in America by USA Today and the Travel Channel, and for good reason. Not only will you find tons of fun rides for the whole family, you will also find great food and amenities. If you are in the Denver area this summer, here are some top reasons to spend a day there:
FUN RIDES
The best part about Water World is undoubtably the rides. Water World has more family tube rides than any other park and the largest variety of attractions in America. From Wally World for the tots, to Voyage to the Center of the Earth for the whole family, to the Mile High Flyer, Colorado’s only magnetic water coaster, Water World has 50 attractions to provide you with a day of non-stop fun.
GREAT FOR FAMILIES
Water World has something for everyone — wave pools, family tube rides, thrill rides, a lazy river, and more. There’s three separate Children’s Play Adventures, including the all new Big Top Family Fun Zone for the little ones. If rides aren’t your thing, you can relax on a lawn chair by one of the pools, or rent a Cabana or Bungalow for more of a private setting.
There’s plenty of picnic areas available, from covered pavilions to beautifully landscaped grass areas. Bring in your blankets, chairs and coolers if you’d like, just make sure you lock up your valuables. Choose from an all-day locker rental with unlimited opening and closing, or a pay-as-you-go locker that you can buy tokens for.
YUMMY FOOD
If you choose not to bring your own cooler of food, Water World has plenty of food options to choose from. From pizza and burgers, to ice cream and funnel cakes, you don’t have to worry about going hungry. And, if your kids are always hungry like mine, you can buy an all-day pass to Pharaoh’s Feast, a buffet with unlimited food and drinks. This is a great value for families, especially if you plan on spending the whole day at the park.
FREE PARKING
You can park all day at Water World, free of charge. There are plenty of parking spots to choose from and the walk from the parking lot to the entry gates isn’t too far either.
Water World is always a blast for the whole family, which is why we go back year after year. The fun never gets old!
