Have your kids watched the new TV show, Little Charmers? My five-year-old twin girls recently discovered it on Nick Jr. and have fallen in love! The bright and colorful animated series takes place in the magical land of Charmville and follows three Charmers-in-Training: Hazel, Posie and Lavender. They do their best to make good use of their new magical powers, but this oftentimes leads to hilarious misadventures. In the end, they find that their most important power is true friendship. They learn that a mix of teamwork and self-confidence can overcome anything that comes their way. This message has been perfect for teaching my twin girls that anything is possible when they work together and treat each other kindly!
My girls love imaginative play and dolls, so they were beyond the moon excited when I surprised them with a handful of Little Charmers toys. They couldn’t wait to play with the Hazel Magic Doll and her kitty, Seven, as well as the Magic Wand and Treble the Owl Plush Pet.
Hazel has a cape that instantly disappears with the push of a button and beautiful, pink hair that you can brush. She also has a magic wand and a removable hat. My girls have been taking turns playing with her and having her go on adventures with Seven and Treble. One of my girls keeps telling me, “Mom, Hazel is so beautiful! I can’t stop looking at her!” She’s barely put the doll down all week!
The Little Charmers toys have kept my girls entertained before and after school, and at times it’s even become a whole family activity. The girls have been having so much fun using the Magic Wand to “cast” spells on each of us. They turned Grandpa into a frog, Brother into a dog, Dad into a cat and Mom into an “angry mom” and then back into a “nice mom.” Surprisingly, they haven’t fought over who gets to play with what. It’s been so much fun watching them get creative and use their imaginations. I’m definitely planning on picking up the other two dolls to give as Christmas gifts!
Yesterday the girls didn’t have school, so we decided to have even more Little Charmers fun. One of their favorite episodes is “Charming Ogres.” In this episode, the three charmers drink “Sparkle Shakes” and then they make a potion to turn themselves into ogres. {You can watch it for free on NickJr.com} We thought it would be fun to make real sparkle shakes, so we got creative in the kitchen and came up with our own tasty version. They turned out perfect (a.k.a. the kids loved them!), so of course I wanted to share the recipe with you.
This Sparkle Shake is super easy to make, and the best part is, it’s healthy! It’s really more of a smoothie than a shake, since it’s made with fruit and yogurt instead of ice cream. All you need are frozen strawberries, a banana, vanilla yogurt, vanilla almond milk (or regular milk works too) and ice. Simply throw everything in your blender and blend until smooth. In just a couple of minutes, you have a delicious treat!
Little Charmers "Sparkle Shake" (Strawberry Smoothie)

To make the shake “sparkle,” I lined the rims of our glasses with pink sprinkles. This is super easy to do — just wet the rim of each glass with water and then dip it into a bowl of sprinkles until the rim is covered. Then fill the glasses with the shake mixture and top with whipped cream and a cherry for added flair!
