I participated in this program on behalf of Champions for Kids and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
Did you know that 16 million American children live in poverty? Many of these kids don’t have reliable access to the nutritious meals that help them thrive and succeed both academically and socially. I’ll be the first to admit that I take having food in the fridge for granted. We’ve had to watch our spending during months when money has been tight, but my kids still don’t have the slightest idea of what it is like to live in poverty. That’s why I feel it’s important to teach them that there are people out there who are less fortunate. Even though we can’t give much, it feels good to know that we are making a difference in someone’s life.
In the past, we have worked with Champions for Kids, a wonderful organization that makes it simple to give children in local communities the resources they need to thrive. To date, they have helped over 3 million children!
The core values of Champions for Kids are simple — all children should have: Someone who cares; a Place to belong; Hope for tomorrow and provisions for their journey. All children.
Helping others doesn’t have to come in large doses — every little bit counts! I encourage you to think about how your family can get involved and help your community. One way is to join Champions for Kids and become a Hunger Hero!
