After a long day of work, there is nothing I enjoy more than a glass of wine and a delicious, home cooked meal with my family. Most nights my husband and I cook dinner together — it’s a passion we both share and it gives us time to reconnect while the kids play and do homework. My husband will pop open a bottle of wine, pour each of us glass, and we will chat about our day.
Cooking has always been a passion of mine, and now that I’m older, I’ve combined that passion with wine. There’s nothing better than finding the perfect wine to pair with your meal. It not only enhances the flavor, it also encourages you to slow down and savor the moment. It seems like we are always rushing through life, so it’s nice to be able to enjoy dinner as a family and talk about our day. It’s these simple moments that I cherish.
I’m always looking for new wines to try, so I was happy to discover Wente Vineyards, the country’s oldest, continuously operated family-owned winery. Blending traditional and innovative winemaking practices, the winery draws from approximately 3,000 acres of sustainably farmed Estate vineyards in California to create a collection of fine wines.
Chardonnay is one of my favorite wines because it pairs well with so many different foods. This past weekend, I picked up a bottle of Wente Vineyards Morning Fog Chardonnay for my husband and I to try. I had heard great things about it and it did not disappoint! The high-quality wine is full-body and has a smooth, balanced taste. It paired perfectly with our lemon garlic baked cod, steamed veggies and rice.
