I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Bomb Pop. I received product samples, a party kit, and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
Summer is my favorite time of year. I love that the weather is warmer and the days are longer. It makes for lots of great family memories! This summer we have been having so much fun spending time at the pool, playing baseball, grilling out with family and friends, going to concerts, and celebrating birthdays.
Just this past weekend we celebrated my husband’s birthday. He turned the big 29 this year. Since it would be his last year in his twenties, we decided to have a simple, yet fun birthday party for him. We invited all of our family and some of our good friends over to my in-laws house to celebrate.
While dinner was cooking, all of the kids had lots of fun playing outside. They jumped on the trampoline, played in the tree fort, swung on the swings, and played endless games of Bomb Pop bean bag toss. The kids always love playing at grandma and grandpa’s house. They have a huge yard with so much to do. We always have to beg them to come inside to eat and getting them to leave at the end of the night usually results in tears. They just have so much fun that they don’t want to stop!
For dinner we grilled out yummy steaks and chicken kabobs. We also had fresh garden salad, pickled beets, and sliced watermelon. Everything turned out delicious. It was the perfect summer meal!
My husband is a true kid at heart, so his birthday party couldn’t be complete without Bomb Pop ice pops. For more than 50 years, Bomb Pop has been making those sweet, frozen blasts of fruit flavor in the classic red, white and blue Bomb Pop. They are an iconic treat that my husband and I have been enjoying since we were little kids. We both have fond memories of hearing the ice cream truck come down the street on hot summer days and our parents buying us Bomb Pops. Now that we have kids of our own, we want them to enjoy them as well, so we were excited to feature them at the birthday party.
Bomb Pop sent us four flavors to enjoy at our party — Original and Original Sugar Free, and two new colorful and flavorful treats — Hawaiian Punch and Sour Wower. You can learn more about all of the Bomb Pop varieties here.
It was a hot night, so the kids couldn’t wait to have a Bomb Pop! Most of them wanted to try Hawaiian Punch or Sour Wower, but a couple of them stuck with Original. All of the kids loved them! I tried the Sour Wower and WOW! They sure are sour, but super addicting at the same time. Since the party, my kids have tried all of the flavors and have liked them all.
We ended the party with nice conversation around the fire pit and a second dessert — chocolate zucchini birthday cake with vanilla ice cream. It was not only the perfect end to a beautiful summer night, but also to a great birthday party that my husband will remember forever!
Did You Know?
Bomb Pop is an official sponsor of Little League® Baseball and Softball. I think this is great! My son has been playing baseball for a few years now. It is so fun to watch him play. It gives us something to look forward to a couple nights a week. Right now he is actually in the middle of their end of the season tournament. So far his team has won the first two games, so we are hoping they will win the next two and take the championship for the second year in a row!
Bomb Pop celebrates the joys of being a kid in the summer months! What outdoor activities do your kids love the most?

I remember having these as a kid, but I remember getting them from the ice cream truck. Great treat to stay cool.
