VTech InnoTab MAX Tablet Review & Giveaway

My twin girls are absolutely loving their first year of Kindergarten. They are learning something new every day, which has been very exciting to watch. They are so eager to learn and want to practice their new skills as much as possible. In addition to the homework packet they receive each week, we have been working on spelling new words and reading together every night. They’ve also been having a lot of fun working on their math and language arts skills with their new VTech InnoTab MAX, a fun educational tablet for kids.

The VTech InnoTab MAX is designed for kids ages 3-9 years. It is an attractive, well-made tablet built with kids in mind. It features a powerful dual-core CPU with up to six times the processing power of previous generations. It has a high-resolution 7″ multi-touch screen, built-in rechargeable Lithium battery and stylus pen. It also features a handle for easy carrying, a flip and fold stand and a tough cover to protect the tablet.

The tablet comes loaded with an educational bundle of eight apps that can be downloaded after registering the tablet on the Learning Lodge® app store. Additional apps include My Magic Beanstalk, Movie Maker, Art Studio and Wonder Cam MAX. As an added bonus, you get one free Toca Boca app and two additional free apps that can be downloaded from the Learning Lodge. There are tons of age-appropriate apps to choose from and progressive learning content that adapts to your child’s skill level.

In addition to the educational apps, the InnoTab MAX features Kid-Safe Wi-Fi and Web Browser so kids can explore online games, videos and websites that have been pre-selected by VTech. As a parent, you can manage your child’s apps, web access and tablet time within the Parental Controls. You can even track your child’s learning development!

Setting up the tablet is super easy. It’s as simple as taking the tablet out of the box, plugging it in to a power outlet and following the prompts. Within about 20 minutes, we had ours set up and ready to be played with. I really didn’t even have to show my girls how to use it. They were quickly able to figure out how to use all the different apps, including the free games we downloaded and the built-in camera.

My girls brought their InnoTab MAX to Thanksgiving dinner and it turned out to be a hit among all the kids. They had so much fun playing games and creating pictures with the Art Studio app. It kept them occupied for hours! Normally, I wouldn’t be a huge proponent of letting my girls stay on a tablet for longer than 30 minutes, but I don’t worry so much with the InnoTab MAX since I know they are playing educational games.

As my girls get older, I am excited for them to try VTech Kid Connect™, a super cool feature on the InnoTab MAX, that allows children and parents to exchange voice and text messages, photos, drawings and fun stickers in real-time between the tablet and a smartphone. I can see this being a handy feature to have if we ever need to get in touch, or if my girls just want to share some of the things they’ve created.
